PAID BY COMMITTTEE TO ELECT KEN ANDRUS

My Background

I grew up in Utah and attended school there, including Brigham Young University. In 1959, my family sold our ranch and moved to a larger one in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. My time was then spent between working in Idaho and returning to Utah to work.

I attended graduate school at BYU and worked for the Animal Science Department for 8 years as Livestock Herdsman. During this time, I met and married my wife Colleen. In 1975, we moved permanently to Lava Hot Springs where we purchased the family ranch in partnership with my younger brother.

We have eight children who have all attended school in the Marsh Valley School District. All not still attending have gone on to universities in Idaho and Utah.

I have been involved in church and community leadership positions including board member of Bannock County Farm Bureau and as President. I was on the Marsh Valley School Board for 5 1/2 years where I gained valuable experience in setting budgets and public service.

In 2004, I was elected to represent the people of Bannock County in the House of Representatives for District 29, Seat A. I have served you with honesty and integrity, and will continue to do so thanks to your support. I have recently been honored by being inducted into the Eastern Idaho Agriculture Hall of Fame, and being endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Business for my 100% voting record on issues vital to the survival of Idaho’s small businesses. I am deeply appreciative of these recognitions and others that I have received.
